Sonja Bourpoulas
BA, MEd (In progress)
Child & Family
Intern Therapist

I am in the final stages of completing my Master’s degree in School Counselling and bring 25 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, with a special focus on early primary education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside countless children in their early learning journeys, building trusting relationships, and helping them grow both academically and emotionally.
My approach for counselling is trauma-informed and grounded in the belief that every child has inherent worth and dignity. I create a safe, caring space where children feel understood, valued, and empowered to face challenges with confidence. By meeting each child where they are and honoring their unique story, I strive to nurture resilience, encourage self-expression, and help them discover their strengths. My role is to walk alongside each child, offering guidance, compassion, and hope as they grow.
Sonja is in the final stage of her training and is supported every step of the way through weekly, direct supervision with our Team Leader and Accredited Clinical Supervisor, Gisella La Madrid.
