I believe every person has an inner knowing—a sense of what they need, what matters to them, and what feels right for them. During times of stress, conflict, or emotional overwhelm, however, it can become difficult to access that inner voice. My role as a counsellor is to create a warm, supportive, and emotionally safe space where children, youth, and parents can feel understood and empowered to reconnect with their strengths, values, and goals.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and School Counsellor with the Surrey School District. With over 14 years of experience as an elementary educator across Kindergarten to Grade 7, I have extensive experience supporting children and youth experiencing anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, social challenges, academic struggles, and behavioural concerns. My background in education gives me a strong understanding of child development and the social, emotional, and academic demands children experience at school.

I also work closely with parents and caregivers to better understand their child’s needs, strengthen parent-child connection, and develop practical strategies that can be used at home and at school. I believe that when children feel safe and supported within their bodies, relationships, and environments, they are better able to develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to thrive.

My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I draw from person-centred therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based counselling, along with mindfulness, self-compassion, and nervous-system-informed practices. I tailor counselling to each client’s developmental stage, needs, pace, and goals, balancing emotional understanding with practical tools and strategies.

I am particularly passionate about supporting children, youth, and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, self-esteem, school-related challenges, social difficulties, and behavioural concerns. I also enjoy supporting parents who are looking for a deeper understanding of their child and practical, compassionate ways to strengthen connection and support their child’s emotional well-being.

I hold a Master of Education in School Counselling, a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. My combined background in education and counselling allows me to bring both clinical knowledge and practical experience to my work with children, youth, and families.
