Clinical Internship Program

The Clinical Internship Program at Strong Ties offers an opportunity for students undergoing their master's level counselling program to complete their required practicum and professional registration requirements. The 6-9 month program is an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within a private practice setting.

Clinical Interns apply their clinical counselling skills working with children, teens and families facing diverse challenges. Interns are provided with training and experience in evidence based interventions, play therapy techniques, and other methods. Our goal is that at the end of the program, students will develop therapeutic skills to work with children and youth, will be trained in observation, informal assessments, reporting, note taking and will gain the necessary perspectives and professionalism to conduct themselves as counsellors and therapists.
